cherries and socks

I've been MIA once again...a cute boy came to town and there were places to go, restaurants to try, wine to drink and birthday candles to blow out...

I went to costco today purely for fruit and for once I actually got out of there for less than $100.  (miraculous I tell you.)  While I was there, I was not at all expecting to see these:

anyone who knows me, knows I *love* cherries!!

Is this not the craziest amount of cherries that you've ever seen??!!!  I could not leave without them.  And because you can't quite tell how huge these are, take a look here.

Now on to knitting news.  Alert the masses:  I have completed my sockapaltwoza socks!

I have to say, I quite like how these turned out.  Do you want to see a close up?  But I guess I have another month to find out whether they fit my pal, huh?  We're not sending them out until mid-August September so I will just have to be patient!  (just realized we're not sending out the socks until September!!  Talk about being done super early!!  Guess I can sit back and watch everyone else's progress...)

takeout / takeaway

Unfortunately I have no knitting pics today and I think I just broke my footrest at work determining from the loud crack that I just heard.  (I am not tall you know, I need this foot rest.)  But something made me chuckle on the way to work and I had to share it with you.

I go to work and start early...typically get there a good hour before everyone else.  It helps to sanify the day.  So I'm driving down the street, and I see a group of runners running back to the gym.  They're obviously in some AM torture class.  They're all spaced apart, they're tired, they're haggard...they're running with exercise balls and they looked heavy!  Some were walking with said ball...I'm sure trying to regain their breath...then further down the street, amongst the runners and fast-paced walkers with their workout balls, there was a man walking with a takeout bag.  hahahahaha!  Yes, that would be me...I'm walking with my food la la la not a workout ball.
